Uploading and Downloading Objects via Cyberduck with Genesis Cloud

Cyberduck is a popular file transfer client that supports various protocols, including S3 compatible object storage. This guide will walk you through the step-by-step process of uploading and downloading objects to and from your object storage using Cyberduck with Genesis Cloud.
Step 1: Download and Install Cyberduck
Go to the Cyberduck website at https://cyberduck.io/ and download it according to your operating system.
Install Cyberduck on your local system.
Step 2: Configure Cyberduck for Genesis Cloud Object Storage
Open Cyberduck on your local system.
Click on "Open Connection" icon in the toolbar. Clicking on "Open Connection" option
In the "Open Connection" window, select "Amazon S3" from the dropdown menu for the protocol. Clicking on "Amazon S3" option
Enter the following information:
Access Key ID: Enter the access key ID generated during the second step of the parent article.
Secret Access Key: Insert the secret access key generated in the second step of the parent article.
Click "Connect" to establish a connection to your Genesis Cloud object storage. Clicking on "Connect" to establish a connection to Genesis Cloud object storage
Step 3: Uploading & Downloading Objects
Uploading Objects
- Once connected, you will see your object storage buckets and directories listed in Cyberduck. Screen shows the list of buckets and directories
- Right-click on the "bucket” and then click on “Upload” option. Clicking on "Upload" option
- Navigate to the file which you want to upload from your local system and click on “Choose“. Uploading the selected file
Cyberduck will start uploading the file to your object storage. You can monitor the progress in the transfer window.
Downloading Objects
Navigate to the directory in your object storage where the file you want to download is located.
Select the file you want to download by clicking on it.
- Right-click on the selected file and choose "Download To" option. Clicking on "Download To" option
Choose the destination folder on your local computer where you want to save the downloaded file.
Click "OK" to start downloading the file from your object storage to your local computer.
Step 4: Disconnecting from Object Storage
Once you have finished uploading or downloading your files, you can disconnect from your Genesis Cloud object storage to close the connection.
- Click on the "Disconnect" button in the toolbar. Clicking on "Disconnect" button to close the connection
