Why Create an Instance

To start using our services, you first need to create an instance tailored to your requirements, then connect to it using an SSH key.

Important: If you are using Genesis Cloud through public API, use our developers' guide here: Getting Started

How to Create an Instance

Navigate to the instance creation page by clicking 'Create new Instance' button in your console dashboard and complete the following steps:

  1. Select the 'Instance Type' which has different GPUs and CPUs.

  2. Select the data center 'Location' that better suits your needs. More information on that is here.

  3. Add 'Hostname' and 'Name' of your choice for the instance.

  4. Choose the right configuration as per your needs, for the selected 'Instance Type'.

  5. Now select your preferred preconfigured image under 'Select Image', depending on your use case.

  6. To access your instance securely at a later stage, select your already set-up 'SSH Key' here or generate a 'Password' (learn how to generate SSH key pair and upload SSH public key to the console here)We strongly recommend to use SSH Key while creating the instance.

  7. You can start with our standard security group or use a custom security group (learn how to set them up here).

  8. Choose if you want to have a 'Floating IP' for your instance. This means that the public IP address will remain associated with that instance for its entire lifecycle (learn how to create floating IP here)

  9. Choose the 'NVIDIA® Data Center GPU Driver' version you want to install, if it is available for that image.

  10. Finally, click 'Create Instance' on the right side.

How to Access the Instance

  • Creating the instance might take a few minutes. Once this step is done, you can access your instance via SSH key. Once you are done with your usage, come back to the instance page and stop the instance.

  • One of our main claims is being accessible to our customers. This means we want you to focus on your project and set up the Genesis Cloud services in no time.
