To verify your account, you will be asked to provide a phone number. Once you have verified your account, you can create instances and other resources.
Why does Genesis Cloud ask to verify the phone number?
We take spam and abuse seriously. Using phone numbers to verify identity is one way to protect instance availability and combat abuse.
We use the phone number to send you a verification code. We also make sure the phone number is not being used on many different accounts.
How to verify your account
Step 1: Provide your phone number
Enter your phone number in the designated field
Step 2: Enter the code provided
Enter the received code in the designated field
Step 3: Done
Upon entering the correct code, your account has now been verified and you can access computing and other resources.
Welcome to Genesis Cloud!
I have not received the verification code
You should get the code immediately. If you have not, you can request a new code. Make sure you are not running into one of these common problems:
Some countries/regions and carriers do not support SMS messages from Genesis Cloud: Most mobile carriers support SMS messages from Genesis Cloud. If your carrier does not support SMS messages from Genesis Cloud, you can try the voice call option, or use a different phone number.
There are too many accounts with the same phone number. To help prevent abuse, we limit the number of accounts that can be associated with each phone number.
SMS message delivery can be delayed: Delays can happen in densely populated areas, or if your carrier's infrastructure is not well maintained. If you have waited more than a few minutes and still have not received a SMS message from us, try the voice call option.
