As informed via email, next week, March 10th from 11:00 to 19:00 UTC (12:00 - 20:00 CET) we will have a planned downtime of the Genesis Cloud Compute Service.

The reason is that we're currently expanding the Genesis Cloud network and hardware in our data center in Iceland to provide you with more accelerated compute power in the future.

What does that mean for you?

If you have active instances running, you need to take a snapshot and terminate those instances.

If you do not terminate the instance yourself, we will have to do the shutdown for you. However, this might cause unexpected states after we restart your instance at the end of the downtime. We, therefore, recommend strongly that you terminate running instances before the downtime starts. You can restart them afterward from a snapshot.

During the downtime, you will not be able to connect to your instance, nor is your instance able to connect with services outside of Genesis Cloud.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you. Let us know if you have any questions (
